Kennesaw State University softball player Jessie Mullen is our 2019 Female Collegiate Award winner. Jessie is a graduate of Niceville High School, where she was a three-time All-State selection for softball. Jessie tallied 25 home runs through the first three years of her prep career, and hit at least .375 in each of those seasons. Jessie led Niceville to the 5A state title in 2011.

Jessie was one of six Niceville High School seniors from her team who signed college softball scholarships. Jessie signed with Arkansas, where she appeared in 21 games as a Freshman, including 12 starts. Jessie connected for her first career home run against Mississippi State, and finished the season batting .242.

Jessie started seven games at second base as a Sophomore, then missed the remainder of the season. She took a Redshirt year and transferred to Kennesaw State University (KSU). KSU is part of the University System of Georgia and the third-largest university in the state. KSU is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN), whose nine teams include three Florida schools: Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University, and University of North Florida.

Jessie is currently a Redshirt Senior at KSU. In 2018, she started all 56 games at shortstop, and was named to the ASUN Conference All-Academic Team. KSU won the ASUN Conference regular season and tournament titles, and concluded their season with the school’s first appearance in the NCAA Division I Softball tournament, where they faced Auburn and Jacksonville State in the Tallahassee Regional. The KSU Owls finished their season with a 39-17 record, the third-most wins since moving to the Division I level in 2006. Congratulations to Jessie Mullen, All Sports 2019 Female Collegiate Award winner.
