Tyre McCants, wide receiver from the University of South Florida, is the All Sports Association Male Collegiate winner for 2019. Tyre is a graduate of Niceville High School, where he played for Coach John Hicks. Tyre had an outstanding senior year at Niceville, with 818 receiving yards, 560 rushing yards, 540 return yards and 18 touchdowns. He helped lead Niceville to a 13-2 record and an appearance in the Class 7A state championship game. Tyre was named the Northwest Florida Daily News Large School Player of the Year and WEARTV3 Offensive Player of the Year for 2013.

Rated a three-star recruit by ESPN, Tyre had offers from Florida State, Georgia, Auburn, Louisville, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, California, and Minnesota, ultimately signing with the University of South Florida. Tyre was recruited by Coach Stu Holt, signed with Head Coach Willie Taggart and finished his collegiate career under Head Coach Charlie Strong.

Tyre leaves USF as one of the most decorated wide receivers in school history. He played in 51 games and made 32 starts. He is fourth all-time in USF career receptions (127), third in receiving yards (1,856), and tied for second with 16 career touchdown receptions. Tyre’s 59 receptions in the 2018 season rank as the third-most receptions in a single season in USF history.

Tyre played in four collegiate bowl games, and he is USF’s career bowl game leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He even threw a touchdown pass in the 2018 Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa. Tyre graduated from USF in May with a degree in Communications. Congratulations Tyre, and Go Bulls!
