The All Sports Association welcomes Urban Meyer as our keynote speaker. Meyer grew up in Ohio. He was selected in the 13th round of the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft by the Atlanta Braves as a shortstop. He spent two seasons playing minor league ball in the Braves organization, while also playing defensive back at the University of Cincinnati.

Meyer earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cincinnati in 1986, and his master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio State University in 1988. Meyer’s first collegiate coaching position was as a graduate
assistant at Ohio State. He spent the next thirteen years as an assistant coach, at Illinois State, Colorado State, and Notre Dame.

Meyer served as head coach of the Bowling Green Falcons from 2001 to 2002, the Utah Utes from 2003 to 2004, the Florida Gators from 2005 to 2010, and the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2012 to 2018.

Meyer won two national championships at Florida, the first with a 41-14 win over Ohio State in the 2007 BCS Championship game, and the second when the Gators defeated Oklahoma 24-14 in the 2009 BCS Championship game.

Meyer won his third national championship at Ohio State, with a 42-20 win over Oregon in the College Football National Championship game following the 2014 season.

Meyer retired from college coaching in 2018, with an overall record of 187 wins and 32 losses.He coached briefly
in the NFL, for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Meyer married Shelley Mather in 1986. The couple have three children: Nicole, Gisela, and Nathan. Meyer currently serves as a college football analyst for FOX Sports.
