The All Sports Association is proud to name Blake Orr as our Amateur Award winner. The Niceville High School alumnus is a sophomore on the Florida International University Track team, where he has continued his excellence in the javelin throw.
In high school he was the 2022 State runner up in the boys javelin throw with a personal record of 182 feet. He was also on both the 2021 and 2022 boys state title teams for Niceville High School. Niceville assistant track and field coach Emily Webb commented, “Blake’s talent in the javelin was obvious immediately as he had incredible body awareness and naturally adapted to the intricate movements of the sport.
Blake is truly only at the beginning of what I believe will be a pretty epic career. Knowing his work ethic and dedication we have only seen the beginning of what Blake is capable of!”
Since joining the FIU Panther track team, he has competed in numerous meets and garnered recognition as an outstanding amateur competitor. He was one of two men in the nation in the Under-20 division to qualify for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where he earned a bronze medal. He also placed third in the USATF Under 20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
