FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — The All Sports Association, Inc., announced today that Boo Weekley from Milton Florida is the 2009 All Sports Association Professional Award Winner. “We at the All Sports Association are thrilled to have Boo as our Professional Award winner this year,” commented All Sports President Mike Coupe’. “His success on the PGA Tour and at the Ryder Cup, coupled with his exuberance and excitement for the game, make him an outstanding choice.”
Since 1970 the All Sports Association has brought together the finest athletes in Northwest Florida. Each February at their annual Awards Banquet they honor the area’s top High School, Collegiate, Amateur, Professional, Special Olympic athletes and individuals who have fostered youth activities. Also presented at the banquet is the Wuerffel Trophy honoring the college football player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement, and the Col Al Byrne Award recognizing a local individual who demonstrates outstanding support of youth athletics.
Weekley will be presented the Professional Award at the All Sports Association’s 40th Annual Awards Banquet on February 20, 2009 held at the Emerald Coast Conference Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Also attending this year’s banquet will be Florida quarterback Tim Tebow who was announced earlier as this year’s Wuerffel Trophy Recipient.
