Borders Continues His Great Play at EKU

Upon leaving the banquet last February, 2015 All Sports Collegiate Award Winner Devin Borders of Eastern Kentucky headed back to college and, not long after, to the hospital for surgery.

A slightly torn meniscus was needing repair in his knee and caused him to miss spring practice.

Of course, any surgery will cause doubts in an athlete if they will still have the “same stuff” as they did before they went under the knife.

However, Borders has bounced back quite nicely.

The “block party” has continued with a blocked punt and a field goal in consecutive games.

But, the wide receiver better known in the twitter universe as @dblaize15 saved his best for perhaps the biggest stage, their visit to Lexington last Saturday to face the Kentucky Wildcats.

With SEC2 televising, Borders had 2 touchdown catches against the Cats, the second to put his team ahead by 14 points in the 4th quarter.

The network announcers were in awe of his abilities.  Take a look at his 2 catches below.

Although the Colonels eventually lost to Kentucky in overtime, they are 2-2 on the year (the only loss being to NC State) and are 1-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
