Emily Madril – 2022 Female Collegiate Award Winner

Emily Madril

Navarre native Emily Madril is the All Sports Association Female Collegiate award winner. Emily was a soccer star at Navarre High School, scoring 107 goals and making 70 assists in her high school career. Emily led Navarre to its first Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Semifinal appearance in 2014.

 

Madril took her soccer skills to Florida State University, where she played in all 21 matches in 2017 as a freshman, including 20 starts. Madril missed the 2018 and 2019 seasons due to injury. She returned in 2020, started all 16 games, and was named a United Soccer Coaches Second Team All American. Madril started all 25 games of the 2021 season. She logged 2,306 minutes of playing time, more than any other team member. After spending most of 2021 as the nation’s top-ranked team, the Seminoles won the 2021 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer National Championship. Following 110 scoreless minutes of action, the national champion was determined in penalty kicks for the third consecutive year when FSU edged BYU 4-3. The game was played on December 6 at Stevens Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

 

The 2021 women’s soccer final was the Seminoles sixth appearance in the national championship game and its third national title. For her outstanding play, Madril was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year for 2021.
